Skate Designs "Mystico" Skateboard
Take a look at this gem of a skateboard, the Mystico from Skate Designs in Oceanside, CA. Skate Designs is owned by Dale Smith, one of the most knowledgeable individuals on the design and construction of skateboards over the last 50 years. Dale is the product manager for several well-know major brands, but he saves his best ideas for Skate Designs. I got to know Dale over pints at Port San Clemente and didn't even know he was in the biz until a few years had gone by. Many great stories shared and it's an ongoing journey with Dale. The Flying Eye is a classic re-interpretation of the Rick Griffin Flying Eyeball that has inspired so many over the years.
The Mystico is 31" x 8" with a 14" wheelbase. Tracker Full Tracks, Skate Designs Flying Eye wheels, 57mm 78as & NMB Abec 7 bearings keep it all rolling fast.

Four Mile Revisited
These shots were taken in November 2010 as the final clean-up of the property was being done. I was fortunate to be allowed to take a few pieces of stone from my cabin and the one next door. The stove was the only thing that survived from my old cabin.

RIP Four Mile Canyon Cabin
I'm being rocked hard by the Four Mile Canyon Fire in Boulder, CO right now. Lived there 98/99 and the fire started about 1/2 mile from the cabin I lived in. This is a picture I took on July 26, 2010 on my last trip out there. pretty sure it's gone, but they have saved the structures in historic Gold Hill furthur up the road. Prayers to all affected. {{{Four Mile Spirit forever}}}

Volcom Family 1993 original stickers
Here's an assortment of 12 different Volcom stickers from 1993, their first year in business. Every sticker they made the first year was black & white, gave them a very distinctive look. These were from Tucker Hall, the original VP of Sales for Veeco, long-gone before the IPO a few years ago. From the Red Bear Archives.
