Eddie Aikau 1987/88 Surf Contest poster

Here's a picture of the 1987 "The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau" surf contest poster from the Red Bear Archives. I took it up to the Sacred Craft Surf Expo in Ventura 2 weeks ago to get an appraisal at the Collectibles Roadshow they had going. Well turns out this particular year's poster is the most collectible, and valuable, of all the Eddie contest posters. At least that's the word from Boyd Scofield, who placed the value at $500-$700. Interesting note on this is that they actually did not hold the Eddie in 87/88. Due to the fact that the waves have to be a minimum 20-25 feet Hawaiian scale, and that does not happen every winter.

I actually cannot recall when or where I picked this one up. Just been sitting in a box with a bunch of other gems. Crazy.

It is for sale, e-mail me if you want to know more details.

Cheers!

Welcome to Oso Rojo Trading

Welcome to the beginnings of the Oso Rojo Trading blog. I'll be sharing some great items from my archives and the stories that go along with them. Plenty of characters will appear over time. Thanks for visiting and stay in contact.

Here's a scan of the original Mountain Stealie 5" diameter sticker. Produced in Emmigration Canyon, Utah in 1981 for the 8/12/81 Salt Palace shows. Met the couple that did them in Spring 1983. More on this story to follow....
